The California Department of Insurance (CDI) has directed the bail bond business since the section of the Bail Bond Regulatory Act in 1937. A bail bond is a guarantee bond, which is posted by a bail bond organization to the court as an assurance for an arrestee's appearance at all trials. The court will deliver an arrestee from detainment after posting of the bail bond. Bail bonds are endorsed and given by authorized bail specialists which go about as the designated agents of authorized guarantee insurance agency.
